这是BBC于1990年拍摄的关于凡高的电视剧。
BBC的拍摄手法一贯是比较平和的，并不过分的张扬。这部片子的风格也是如此。看过1956年Kirk Douglas主演的Lust for Life和1991年版的法国版Van Gogh，也许你会觉得这部影片显得冗长而温吞。不过，我就喜欢BBC这种细腻的调调，慢慢地平和叙述关于凡高短暂的一生，包括他的绘画生涯，他的精神世界，他与提奥的兄弟之情，与高更等人的友谊，当然还有被后人揣测无数的感情纠葛。
而且，本片的主演可是一个大帅哥啊，Linus Roache莱纳斯·罗彻。大家应该都看过他主演的The Wings of the Dove 鸽之翼吧。当然，在这部影片之中他的扮相是留着凌乱的胡子滴，但是并不影响大家的花痴...口水！！！

小邵是一名在技校上学不求上进的学生。毕业后整日游手好闲。他的爸爸是工人，妈妈在学校门口做小吃摊生意，经济状况没法通过交钱来让孩子继续上学。父母都觉得小邵不争气，但是又没什么办法。正好适逢征兵入伍，看样子这是这个家庭唯一的选择。小邵临走前，父母都掉了眼泪。

深圳市越众影视有限公司历时一年多策划选题、打磨脚本，在各方努力下，合作央视拍摄数百小时，深挖主角十多人，走访旁述者近百人。《见证》制片人陈晓卿称：这些经历与个性极为丰富的深圳民间人物，血肉丰满了深圳30年的历史。这也是正在崛起的深圳纪录片人继2008年底《深圳民间记忆》之后，又一次全景式地向全国观众展示了深圳人的微笑和泪水，光荣与梦想。
