2021年11月，国家大剧院制作推出的音乐纪实纪录片《世界指挥大师在中国 I》在线上播出后收获了强烈的反响。2022年6月18日，《世界指挥大师在中国II》选取了艾森巴赫、丹尼尔·哈丁、帕帕诺、迈克尔·桑德林、杨颂斯5位世界级指挥大师十余年来在国家大剧院的精彩演出片段，以人物传记片+音乐会的形式，带观众走近大师、了解大师，并重温他们在国家大剧院舞台上挥就的精彩音乐瞬间。 本期节目中，还特别邀请了国家大剧院音乐艺术总监吕嘉、中央芭蕾舞团音乐总监张艺、国家大剧院管弦乐团首席李喆、国家大剧院管弦乐团长笛首席叶怡礽、国家大剧院驻院歌剧演员关致京，音乐学者王纪宴作为讲述嘉宾，带观众了解五位大师的艺术经历，解读其艺术风格，并回眸他们在中国的点滴过往。
