佳娜（戴安娜·阿姆夫特 Diana Amft 饰）是一个普通的女孩，过着平凡的日子。一天，她开车驶过街头时，一个名为汤姆（Stephan Hornung 饰）的男子晕倒在了佳娜的车旁边，虽然他的昏厥和佳娜并没有关系，但佳娜却始终感觉到深深的负罪感。
汤姆陷入了昏迷之中无法醒来，与此同时，神秘的科学无法解释的事件发生了，那就是汤姆似乎变成了一个鬼魂一样的存在出现在了佳娜的身边。佳娜能够感受到一切汤姆所感受到的东西，包括他的全部过去和思想，反之亦然，他们两个人似乎一下子成为了心灵相通的双胞胎一般。糟糕的是，这一切只有佳娜一个人能够体会到，所以她的父母开始怀疑佳娜是不是精神失常了。
